You'll cry and laugh. And cry and cry and laugh.
Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, Rose Cousins lives in Halifax Nova Scotia, and is a vital part of the thriving East Coast Canadian music scene. Through frequent touring in the US, Cousins has also become an adopted member of the thick-as-thieves Cambridge Massachusetts songwriter scene. You could say Rose Cousins is a collaborator in the extreme! Her most recent album "The Send Off" was produced by Luke Doucet and features Kathleen Edwards, Melissa McClelland, David Myles, Jenn Grant and Tom Wilson. In three years, Cousins has garnered a string of awards including Contemporary Singer of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, winner of the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest, Best Folk Recording at both the Nova Scotia Music Awards and the PEI Music Awards, and Female Recording of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards.
"Some voices hit you hard from first blush and this is one of them. [...] The Send Off weaves back and forth between electric and acoustic, from heartache to intense joy, with inventive arrangements that enhance the beauty of Cousins' fresh, sincere compositions" - Exclaim!

You'll exclaim, "Wait... How does she do that?!"
With diverse influences that include Folk, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Bluegrass, Country and even Classical, Natalia Zukerman has been described by public radio as “an example of the finest Americana.” She combines her unique slide guitar playing style with seductive vocals, a painter’s observing eye, unapologetic writing, and sharp wit. Zukerman’s music is as riddled with urban restlessness as it is grounded in rootsy warmth. Early 2011 tour includes shows with Janis Ian, Tom Paxton, Garrison Starr, and Susan Werner. Her new album "Gas Station Roses" was co-produced with Willy Porter and features guest appearances by Patty Larkin, Garrison Starr, Meghan Toohey (The Weepies), Adrianne Gonzalez (The Rescues), Todd Sickafoose (Ani Difranco), Sara Milonovich (Richard Shindell) and Ray Bonneville. Release: March 8th.

"a wise mix of rootsy styles from torch blues to country swing. If you're a fan of Madeleine Peyroux, Bonnie Raitt or even Amy Winehouse, you'll find stuff to connect with here." – Philadelphia Daily News
"Combining the incisive songcraft of Shawn Colvin, the bluesy confidence of Bonnie Raitt, the Americana grit of Lucinda Williams, and the independent streak of Ani DiFranco, Zukerman commands — no, demands — attention..." – Berkshire Living |
